Joanna Riley Massage Therapist
I am a qualified practitioner in Therapeutic/ Swedish Massage/ Soft & Deep tissue massage having trained at the London College of Massage (2009-2010).
In this modern day, fast moving and stressful life, it is important to take time out to relax. There is no better way to completely calm, soothe and relax yourself than with a massage. I love having a job that helps people both move and feel better.
I currently work at Pinewood Studios with the cast and crew providing deep tissue/sport massage on set. I also visit companies around London offering corporate massage to the staff.
Throughout my career, the most asked question by clients is, “Why did you become a massage therapist?” I am certain my answer hasn’t changed over the years: I absolutely love the work.
I offer the following treatments:
Deep tissue, Sport massage:
Deep tissue & Sport massage I use this type of massage therapy to focus on realigning the deeper layers of muscles. It is also used for chronic aches and pain and contracted areas such as a stiff neck and upper back, low back pain, leg muscle tightness, and sore shoulders.
Swedish massage:
Many of my clients just need to zone out and one of the primary goals of the Swedish massage technique is to relax the entire body. This is accomplished by rubbing the muscles with long, gliding strokes in the direction of blood returning to the heart; afterwards you feel rejuvenated and ready to face the day ahead.
Pregnancy Massage:
Prenatal massage is therapeutic bodywork that focuses on the special needs of the mother-to- be as her body goes through the dramatic changes of pregnancy. It enhances the function of muscles and joints, improves circulation and general body tone, and relieves mental and physical fatigue; it is a lovely way for mothers-to- be to relax and be pampered.
Baby Massage:
Infant massage is a series of strokes and techniques tailored to suit the infant and the family. It isa framework within which the parent/child interaction allows understanding to develop and builds trust and attachment. These strokes can also help with colic, dry skin, sleeping and have many other benefits.
