Nicola Poulsen M.Ost
Meet Nicola, osteopath and sports massage therapist
Nicola Poulsen graduated from Oxford Brookes University in 2011 with a Master’s degree. She worked in Switzerland for five years before returning to the UK in 2017. She continues to see clients in Switzerland once a month and is fluent in Danish and German as well as English.
As a GOsC registered Osteopath, and qualified Sports Massage therapist, Nicola has a wide knowledge of treating sports injuries and a lot of experience working with high performance athletes to keep them in optimum condition. Originally from Denmark, with a Swiss background, she grew up in a sporting environment competing in handball and swimming. Her interest in sport later led to her work with the Swiss National Teams in swimming and triathlon. In 2016 she was part of the Swiss Olympic team supporting the Swiss triathlon team in Rio. This summer she is supporting the Swiss Swimming team as they compete in the World Championships in South Korea in preparation for next year’s Olympic Games.
Helping patients manage their conditions
In addition to her extensive experience in sports injuries and working with high performance athletes, Nicola continues to be very interested in treating people of all ages and backgrounds. She has a great passion for osteopathy and trying to help patients improve, understand and manage their problems and conditions. She is particularly interested in shoulders, neck pain and headaches and in her osteopathy practice she uses a variety of manual techniques as well as visceral work.
Nicola’s Spare Time
Outside of work, Nicola has always led a very active life, and loves to play tennis and travel.
What Nicola’s patients say about her
“As a frequent traveller I spend a lot of my time compressed into planes, trains and automobiles or navigating the strange lumps most hotels claim are pillows. All of this can take its toll, but Nicola is an absolute miracle worker. She’s experienced and efficient and after 45 minutes you feel completely renewed! I can’t recommend Nicola highly enough, whether it’s to resolve a specific problem or just for a regular tune up.” Dan, Company Executive
“I was due to see you this Thursday but you’ve done such wonders that I don’t think I need the session so I have cancelled it. My SI seems to be behaving – running and Zumba and all – so I just wanted to say what a pleasure it was to meet you and to thank you for sorting me out! Your charming, thorough and professional approach is to be commended and recommended. Hopefully, our paths will cross again – in the nicest possible way.” Camilla H, Wimbledon
We are very glad to welcome Nicola back to the clinic after her time away supporting the Swiss Swimming Team at the World Championships in South Korea!
