Osteopathy is a very effective and natural form of manual therapy, which looks at the structure and mechanics of the whole body to find the causes of pain and provide relief. For example, poor posture often puts pressure on joints and soft tissue and commonly causes pain in the neck, shoulders and lower back. We have developed a series of postural exercises, which focus on how to sit and stand in the most energy efficient way to release tension and give an increased sense of well-being.
The first consultation begins with a detailed case history being taken, an examination and treatment, which depending on your diagnosis, may include different types of soft tissue massage and joint articulation to release tension, stretch muscles and mobilise your joints. Advice and exercises to support recovery and prevent recurrence may also be given.
